USPS Tracking Not Showing Activity?

 
We are experiencing tracking issues with some of our USPS shipments.  Please see details below.
 
Key Points
  • Some USPS shipments are not showing tracking activity until delivery.
  • If you received a shipping notification with a USPS tracking number, then your order is in transit.
  • Orders that do not arrive on time are covered by our Free Return Policy and are eligible for refund or replacement.
 
What is Happening
Ordinarily, USPS scans packages at each stage of transit.  This allows you to see where your package is and how close it is to delivery.
 
Starting in November, we began seeing cases where orders shipped with USPS did not receive any tracking updates until they were delivered.  These orders either show no scans, or only the acceptance scan, until delivery occurs.
 
During the last 2 weeks, we have received increased reports of USPS shipments not being scanned while in transit.
 
Affected Orders 
This issue currently appears to be affecting about 15% of our USPS shipments.  While we have seen this play out in different parts of the country, it seems to primarily affect customers in the Northern half of the U.S. where the USPS currently has the following advisory:
 
"WINTER WEATHER IN THE NORTHERN PLAINS, GREAT LAKES, AND NORTHEASTERN US, FLOODING IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST, AND WINDS CAUSING POWER OUTAGES STRETCHING FROM THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST TO THE NORTHEAST US MAY DELAY FINAL DELIVERY OF YOUR MAIL AND PACKAGES."
 
When will my order arrive? 
If you received a shipping notification with a USPS tracking number, then your order has been handed off to USPS and is in transit.  We do expect your order to arrive, but are unable to provide any additional information beyond what the tracking provides.
 
We understand that the uncertainty is very frustrating, and apologize for the inconvenience.

What if my order doesn't arrive on time? 
Orders that do not arrive on time are covered by our free return policy.  If your order arrives late and you no longer need it, please contact us and we will provide a return label.
 
If your order does not arrive and is deemed lost, it will be eligible for a full refund or a replacement, whichever you prefer.  Please note that replacements will ship after December 25th.
